The Kogi state Chapter of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has conducted its first Lokoja Local Government Congress at local government Youth hall Lokoja,on Saturday.
Addressing delegates to the congress,Lokoja Local Government chairman of the party,Malam Jibrin Muhammed said Members of the party adopted consensus method, adding he is impressed with the large turn out and manners they conducted themselves.
According to the chairman,the congress was conducted peacefully.
The congress was witnessed by the representative of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),Shiru Abdullahi,Members of state Executive of the party,Hon. Musa Audu Dan Kano,state Publicity Sebcretary, state youth leader, Solomon Joseph, state Secretary,Sule Abubakar and Muhammed Murtala, Auditor.
Jibrin explained that Lokoja Local Goverment chapter of the party elected 17 executives Members that will lead the party to victory in 2023.
Those elected are: Hon. Muhammed Jibrin,a.k.a Alhaji Alhaji,Mamudu Yunusa,Vice Chairman while Yaro Muhammed emerged as the secretary.
Others are,Segun Bose Docas, woman leader,Usman Gambo,Youth leader, Sulaiman Usman,PRO, Abdullah Abubakar, treasurer amongst others.
In his acceptance speech,Hon. Muhammed Jibrin thanked the delegates for the confidence response on him and promised to reposition the party in Lokoja Local Goverment area towards emerging victorious in the 2023 general elections.
