Member representing Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency, Hon. Barr. Shaba Ibrahim,on Saturday, rendered stewardship of his two years in office, saying that he has delivered the dividends of Democracy to his constituents on the theme of his campaign promises.
He said he was on course to change the narrative of representation, stressing that he has been able to give his people quality representation despite years of rigorous, tensed and traumatic economic crunch.
According to the lawmaker, despite the challenges he was able to delivered the dividends of Democracy to the door steps of the people of Lokoja / Kogi federal constituency.
“I embraced the challenges and refused to be distracted from the social contract I have with my people and my covenant with God. I have sponsored and co-sponsored many bills and motions,drilled boreholes, provided scholarship for indigents students and secured employment to our people among many others.
On his alleged plan to defect to the ruling APC,shaba explained that he had been confronted with such question for over one year.
“I have no intention of defecting to the APC, because of my belief in the PDP
At the inception, there was Clarion call for me to join the APC,not even from my Constituents,but from Abuja,but I resisted.
Looking at my contract with my people,there’ll be no bigger betrayal than to
defect to APC,though, I have done it before due to the Crisis that rocked our party then, today PDP is more United than ever, that’s why there’s no reasons for me to join this sucidal mission” he said
He noted that the PDP made him a lawmaker, stressing that PDP is a strong political party that is ready to rescue Nigeria and Nigerians.
The press briefing was attended by PDP leaders,local government party Chairmen,party supporters and many more.
