Muslim Corps members have been reminded to live exemplary lives wherever they find themselves.
The admonition was contained in the address of the NYSC Kogi State Coordinator, Pst. Mrs Mofoluwaso Adebimpe Williams during the first Juma’at Prayer Service at the ongoing 2021 Batch C stream 1 Orientation exercise in Asaya Camp and appreciated Muslim Corps Members for their orderly conduct and communal living among themselves, and especially with other religious groups on Camp where she encouraged them to remain good ambassadors of both their families and the nation at large
In her address, Mrs Williams task Muslim “Corpers” Association of Nigeria (MCAN) on the need for peaceful coexistence between people of different faith, cultures or ethnic groups and for them to see their posting to Kogi State as Divine.
In her words, “I am happy seeing Muslims around me. You are the first religious gathering I am addressing since my deployment to Kogi State. President Muhammadu Buhari has given all of you to me as a family and to take good care of you irrespective of where you come from in order to leave in peace and harmony. I therefore solicit for your maximum cooperation as Corps members because I am a mother for all.”
“Since I came here it’s been so wonderful and everybody have been comporting themselves in orderly manner. That means the basic tenets of the NYSC is strictly adhered to. Asaya camp is not a Prison, I want you all to feel at home. I want to appreciate all of you for staying together as one family and I encourage you all to continue in such manner through the Four cardinal programmes of NYSC Scheme.”
The Coordinator also implored them to continue praying for the NYSC and the country for peace and unity to reign. She promised equal treatment for all religious groups and continuous guide to give necessary support to the moral organs of the NYSC including the officials and Corps members whenever there is need, saying the Scheme respects recognized religious bodies operating in the Camp.

In his remark, the Zonal Inspector Lokoja and Staff Adviser of the MCAN, Mr. Etsu Muazu Idris , expressed delight at the benevolence of Mrs Mofoluwaso Williams, saying this was the second time ever, after having 16 different State Coordinator, Mrs Mofoluwaso William deem It by visiting the mosque and promised that the Muslim brethren will continue to abide by Camp rules and regulations saying this will be the first time they have witnessed large numbers of Muslim Corps members deployed to Asaya Camp.
Etsu Muazu however encouraged the Corps members to stay back and develop common ties among the Nigerian youths and promote national unity, integration and exposed to the modes of living of the people in different parts of Nigeria.
The officials in attendance were the Camp Director, Camp Commandant, Head of Social among others.
