2023: Kogi Central Group Supports Power Shift To West

A political pressure group, the Kogi Central Political Ambassadors, KCPA, has consented to the agitations that power should move to the Western Senatorial District in the 2023 governorahip elections.

The group said the endorsement was in line with equity, fairness and Justice.

The KCPA in a statement issued and signed by the Chairman,Malam Muhammed Onimisi, noted that its surveys among the APC and PDP supporters, on the 2023 gubernatorial power shift indicated that the majority fully support that power should move to the West.

According to the statement; “Kogi state is a by-product of both old Kabba province and kwara state respectively. At a particular period in our political evolution, the present three senatorial districts were under Kabba province before the Eastern flank ceded to Benue state while the Central and the west remained in kwara state.

“It is an undisputable fact that Kogi East had the Governor seat for 19 years: 1992-1993, 1999-2003, 2003-2015. This is the scheming of majoritism. Then, Kogi Central can be said to have enjoy Governor seat for 12 years: 1979-1983,2016-2024. The only district yet to enjoy this privilege is Kogi West. The unique circumstance divinely brought by Almighty Allah in Kogi state necessitating power shift or power rotation should be upheld because Allah does not make mistake.

“Since we cannot question the act of Almighty Allah, it is better our political elites embrace the popular movement for the actualisation of rotational governance structure in Kogi state. On this note, we in this network throw our unshakeable support to our brothers in Kogi West to produce Governor of Kogi state in 2023.

“The Kogi Central political Ambassadors, is also calling on Kogites and indeed Nigerians to support our own Governor Alh Yahaya Bello for 2023 presidency. He is the beam light of the North Central region and the hope of the hopeless. Nigeria shall be better under Yahaya Bello,” the statement stressed.
