Stakeholders across political divides from Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency, are beginning to mobilize support for the candidacy of former Commissioner for health and a one-time Governorship aspirant under the platform of APC, in 2014 Governorship primary, Hon Sulaiman Baba Ali to succeed govemor Yahaya Bello.
A new support group christened, Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency Stakeholders for Sulaiman Baba Ali, was put together at the weekend to garner grassroots for him to emerge as the next Governor of Kogi state.
In a press release jointly signed by Alhaji Abdullahi Isah, Chairman and Comrade Ohikwo Abdulrasaq secretary respectively, stated succinctly that the State was presently at a crossroads and that it needed a person like Hon. Sulaiman Baba Ali, to give it the desired direction so as to engender growth and stability.
The statement extolled the Sterling qualities of Ali, describing him as the “man the Almighty God has ordained to rescue Kogi state at this stage.”
According to the statement, “other Senatorial districts are already mobilizing massive support for him”, adding that “ he is the kind of person our dear state needs for leadership now.” he said
The statement further noted that even though Ali has not yet declared intent to vie for the exalted office, but “ he must be dragged into it.” said the statement.
The statement reads in part,
“We want to assure Kogi people that Baba Ali believes in inequality and social justice. Those are the things you need to consider.
That is his principles right from his days back in secondary school and as a one-time Hon Commissioner of health to his current position as the Chief of Stafff to the honourable minister of interior.
we want to use this medium to support the called by Kogi West Agenda, that the Governorship of Kogi be rotate to Kogi West Senatorial district,with emphasis on Lokoja / Kogi Federal Constituency, Ali is qualified to contest come 2023.

Let nobody deceive you that it should go to a particular Senatorial district.Everybody should fight for it. And when the aspirants are brought out and Kogites are to assess then we can guarantee that Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali will tower above them.” the statement concluded.
