Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, says Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State stands no chance to become the president of Nigeria.
The Kogi State-born Adeyanju, who is the convener of Concerned Nigerians, a non-governmental organisation, said Yahaya Bello is not even qualified to be a president of a pig farm should he decides to vie for such position.
He stated this in a post on his Twitter’s handle on Saturday while reacting to a comment credited to Yahaya Bello, where he said that everybody in Nigeria is calling on him to run for the 2023 presidential election under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeyanju said a governor who is mismanaging a state and unable to pay civil servants minimum wage should not be dreaming of ruling a country as charity begins at home.
“Yahaya Bello is not fit to be president of a pig farm. Kogi State is the worst governed state in Nigeria. Civil servants are feeding from dustbins,” Adeyanju tweeted.
TheAnalystNG reports that the Kogi governor had while speaking on Channels Television on Friday said he is considering running for President in 2023.
His words: “Nigerians, the youth and women, and all Nigerians, including very objective elites are asking me to run for President in 2023,” he said.
“And I believe it is high time that we look into capacity, who can do the job, who is going to unify this country. And I think they are seeing something in me that they are asking me to come and unite and fix this country.
“My answer will be in the affirmative in a few time from now.
“I want to urge each and every one of us that are urging me to come to be patient. It’s a work in progress. And by the grace of God, I am not going to disappoint you when the time comes for me to give a response to that.”
