Tijjani Aliyu, Gen. Idris, Others Honour Abugi At Mother’s Fidau Prayers

The Executive Director, Risk Management Directorate, Keystone Bank PLC, Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu, today led other prominent Nigerians to honour Hajiya Halimat Sadiyat Umar, the late mother of Alhaji Ali Estu Muhammed Abugi, at the eight day Fidau prayers in Lokoja.

Hajiya Umar, 88, had died in Abuja on Friday.

Other prominent Nigerians who attended the Fidau prayers included the Registrar Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Bello Muhammed Bello, Brigadier General, Abdulrahman Idris, Brigade Commander, Asaba, Delta State, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Umar Imam, former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Umar, Member Kogi State SEIC and Chairman, Danko Development Forum, Alhaji Bama Mundi.

Others were Comrade Hassan Shaibu Ohimozi, Abuja based bussinessman, top politicians and government officials, Market Women Association and Islamic clerics.

The Maigari of Lokoja, Dr. Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111 Oon, fksp, who was represented by Alhaji Ahmed Sarkin-Zango, led other traditional title holders to the event.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Aminu Shaban, urged all to live impactful lives, bearing in mind that the end could come any time.

He said the late Hajiya Umar, in spite of enjoying immense blessings from God, served Allah with all she had and instilled discipline in her children.

He his own remarks, the Imam of Kutepa Mosque, Abu Bilal, said that the late Halimat Umar would forever be remembered as a community leader, successful businesswoman and a good Muslim.

The cleric, who emphasised the need to do good while alive also reminded them of temporariness of life and to be prepared for the inevitable end at any time.

 

Quoting some relevant verses of the Qur’an, he noted all souls must taste death and return to their creator at an appointed time.

Prayers were offered by Islamic clerics for the repose of the soul of the departed.
