The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Goverment Council, Hon Danasabe Muhammed Danasabe, has advised youths in the area to Shun cultism saying that it could destroy their Future
Danasabe gave the advice on Saturday in Madabo Lokoja, during this year Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, organised by Da’Iratul- Ahbabul Failati Lokoja.
He said that Cultism in the area has led to the untimely death of many youths ,while many others had be rendered useless by the phenomenon.
The Council boss said any youth who want to be successful in life must stay away from cultism and other vices.
“As we gathered here celebrating the Maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass, I expect our youths to be here in their multitude, this is where they supposed to be,but instead you’ll find them where they were committing Crimes in the name of celebration.”
“Every cultist ends up shamefully because he or she is a threat to society and disgrace to his family.” the chairman said.
He identified poor parenting and peer group influence as some of the causes that made young people to join cultism and urged parents to strive to monitor the activities of their children and the type of company they keep.
Danasabe assured the gathering that the council would continue to partner with state government, security agencies and other stakeholders in the fight against the menace of cultism in the area.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief Imam of Lokoja,Sheikh Amimu Shaaban,Sheikh Aminu Sokoto , APC Chairman Lokoja Local Goverment,Hon. Maikudi Bature, Hon Danladi Sulaiman Aguye, APC stakeholders Chairman Lokoja Local Goverment, Special Adviser to Governor Bello on Water Resource,Hon. Bin-Ebiya Shehu, and Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris the waziri of Lokoja who represented s of Maigari of Lokoja.
Others are : Malam Abdulwasiu Tunduwa,Who stand in for the Hakimi of ward D ,top politicians,Islamic Clerics among many were in attendance.
