Chairman Kogi-SUBEB, Comrade Suleiman Abdullahi Ndalayi, has commended the State Commissioner for Education Hon Wemi Jones for initiating State Education Sector Plan (SESP) and State Education Strategic Operational Plan (SESOP), saying it would make education in the state to regain its lost glory and take the sector to a greater height.
Comrade Suleiman also thanked the State Governor, H.E Gov. Yahaya Adoza Bello, for his love and commitment towards the education sector, especially his developmental stride in primary education sub-sector,
And for ensuring the budgetary allocation of 20 per cent to the sector.
The Chairman made this speech at the Stakeholders Dissemination Meeting on the Drafted State Education Sector Plan (SESP) and State Education Strategic Operational Plan (SESOP), held at Glass House, Government House.
A well attended program organized by the State Ministry of Education, Had the Governor represented by the state Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Chief Asiwaju Asiru Idris, who delivered the Governor’s passionate speech.
The Kogi State Education Strategic Operational Sector Plan is a three-year plan from 2021 to 2023, derived from the State Education Sector Plan (SESP) which is ten-year plan from 2021 to 2030.
Various stakeholders from the Education sector gave their speech and there was also time for QUESTIONS, OBSERVATIONS & ANSWERS.
Commissioners, Heads of the State’s and Private tertiary institutions, MDAs, NGO’s Pressmen Civil Society, Organized Labour, were all present at the event which was held on Thursday the 25th of February 2021 at the Kogi State Government House “Glass House”.
Dr Elizabeth Animoku, the Acting Director of PRS of the Ministry, presented the overview of drafted SESP and SESOP to the stakeholders at the meeting for appraisal.
The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr Wemi Jones presented Certificate of commendation to the members of the committee who were picked from all relevant sectors, for their well done job.
