The ancient town of Ankpa in Kogi State on Sunday witnessed carnival-like activities as eminent personalities and politicians converged in the town to attend the 40th day Fidau prayers for the mother of the Hajiya Halima Alfa,late Hajiya Hauwa Kadiri.
The senator representing Kano Sourth,Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, Deputy speaker Kogi state House of Assembly, Hon Muhammed Muhammed were among those who attended the prayer session.
Chief Imam of Ankpa, and chairman Kogi State Council of ulama’u Sheikh Salman Adam, who led the prayer season,read some verses from the Qur’an and Hadith, soliciting for Allah’s forgiveness for Hauwa’s mistakes while grating her soul eternal bliss.

He urged the people to pray for Hauwu, saying: “The only thing she needs from you now is prayer, whether you are a family member or a sympathiser.”
Adam said that such prayers should continue even after the “fidau”, adding that all Muslims should pray for their departed family members and associates at all times.
Our reporter reports that Halima’s husband, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, his sons, Tukur, Faisal, and former Executive chairman Ijumu Local Goverment,Barr Kabir Fadile attended the prayer season.
Speaking with Newsmen after the prayer season,Senator Gaya described the deceased as a virtues woman who leave by example.
He said the passing away of late Hajiya Hauwa is no doubt a great loss to Eneojo family and Ankpa town in general.
“You should, however, find some comfort in the fact that our dear mother has left behind a larger family that cut across the length and breath of the nation who all share the grief with you at this time”, Senator Gayasaid, adding, “As our beloved mother, transcends to greater glory, it is my prayer, on behalf of my family, that her soul finds eternal rest in the in Aljanat firdaus” he prayed.
The prayer season which took place at Eneoja family compound , unguwan Ankpa town Kogi state,has the blessings of the Executive Chairman Ankpa local government,Hon. Ibrahim Abagwu,Hon. Bala Salisu the Katuka of Lokoja, traditional rulers and politicians among others.
