Our attention has been drawn to the above captioned “Tension mounts over end of tenure of heads of Prisons, Immigration, Civil Defence” which was published on Prnigeria an online news portal of January 6, 2021 by a shadowy group without names or fixed addresses.
We could therefore have chosen to ignore their antics as the statement was neither signed nor from any authentic group anyone is aware of.
However, as stakeholders and concern citizens of Nigeria,we AREWA PROGRESSIVE FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE, have no option that to put the record straight for the benefit of Nigerians.
It has become necessary to set the records straight and to dispel the mischievous misinformation designed to hoodwink Mr. President and other Nigerians into believing the spurious allusions and malicious lies, especially against the commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil defence Corp ,Alhaji Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu.
In the Publication, the publisher mischievously alleged that some faceless source who spoke with the medium ( Prnigeria)accused the minister of interior of illegal tenure elongation of Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Mohammadu’s tenure which is far from the truth, it’s competency, commitment and sincerity to move the country forward among others that pruned President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the tenure of Gana as the commandant of the corps.
The ill-timed attempt by faceless self-centered individuals to trucate and tarnish the unblemished records of Gana failed as the CG Gana is 57 years,not over Sixty as alleged by the blackmailers.
Gana was born on the 18th of January 1963,has not reach his retirement age of 60 years,neither did he worked for 35 years. He Still have 3 solid years to serve this great Nation.
We, the AREWA PROGRESSIVE FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE (APGG) watched with kind interest the achievements recorded under the leadership of CG Gana as the helmsman of NSCDC.
Despite the security challenges in the country,CG Gana in term of security remains remarkable. He reform the organization more than his predecessors.
Before he assumed office, promotions of personels were made base on ” your connections” Gana changed the trend,as promotion now is done base on merit.
Another top policy of Gana Administration include welfarism; the corps welfare were topmost periority of Gana led administration.
Drastic reduction of oil bunkering,Pipeline vandalisation among many crimes were reduced which made the country economy bouyant and stable.
Since the reorganization of the corps about 15 years ago there’s nothing like compassionate promotion, it started in CG’s Gana administration to mention but few.
These achievements among many earned CG Gana the reputation of the best and most competent and credible Commandant General of NSCDC with unblemished tracks since inception.
This reputation, then, like today, created animosity against him from powerful interests within and outside the divide with the aim of distract, frustrate and create questions on his reputation where none existed.
It is common knowledge that some unscrupulous Petitioners and their sponsors have always shown their disdain for CG Gana and have used every opportunity to campaign against him for their self interest.
While it is easy in Nigeria to circulate malicious allegations against public office holders, it is an incontrovertible fact that CG Abdullahi Gana Mohammadu,a renowned administrator and security expert with a track records of uncommon bravery and competence who had successfully managed security challenges across Nigeria remain focus.
We know His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari does not need a malicious character assassination or a rejoinder like this to determine the appointment of any of his appointees. Suffice it to state that, it is a common belief of all serious stakeholders that the Nigeria security challenges at this time requires someone with the professionalism, courage and no-nonsense approach of CG Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu to succeed.
We,The Arewa Progressive For Good Governance, once more appealing to president Buhari to ignore those faceless and self-centered individuals who were calling for the removal of Commandant General of Nigeria security and civil Defense corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu,we plead that his tenure be extend by three year to enable him complete his mandatory 60years and 35 years and age of retirement respectively.
