The minister of state, Federal Capital Territory,Dr Ramatu Tijjani,has appealed to the youths in the state to always adopt dialogue to drive home their demands when negotiating with Goverment.
The appeal was made by the Minister at Stakeholders ministerial Dialogue for
sustainable peace and progress in Lokoja on Wednesday.
She urged the youths to give peace a chance in all their undertakings.
According to Ramatu,the meeting was aimed at
complimenting the efforts of federal government in achieving lasting peace in the country as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The minister said the meeting was focused on the way forward to taking the youths off the streets for useful and peaceful engagements in nation building
She charged the youth to be law abiding citizens as future leaders, urged them to seek better understanding of the democratic process for the ease of systematically mainstreaming them in the scheme of things.
Ramatu seized the opportunity of the stakeholders platform to render the scorecard of the present administration in tackling poverty, insecurity and unemployment among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Royal father’s,the Ohinohi of Ebira land,HRM Ado Ibrahim, admonished the youths to shun violence capable of threatening National unity and cohesion.
The Royal father commended President Muhammadu Buhari and appealed to Nigerians to corporate with the administration in it efforts to unite the country.
Others who spoke at the meeting include: NUJ Kogi state Council Chairman,Comrade Adeiza Momoh Jimoh,State Commissioner of police,Mr Ede Ayuba, representative of youth conrade Isreal Alonge among many.
The occasion was attended by The Ohimege Igu of Koton Karfe, HRM Alhaji Abdulrasaq Gambo Isakoto Koto,the Etsu Bassan Nge, Obaro of Kabba Owoniy Solomon,HRH Alhaji Abu Ali and host of others.
