The Kogi State Chairman of Independent Electoral Commission,Mamman Nda Eri, has assured stakeholders that the forthcoming local government election slated to take place on the 12, of December 2020 will hold as scheduled.
Eri gave the assurance while addressing stakeholders,members of various political parties and NGOs on Monday in Lokoja.
According to him;”Notice is hereby given to all citizens of Kogi State that 2020
Local Government Elections will take place as scheduled no the12th December, 2020.
Accreditation and voting shall be done simultaneously and voting shall start by 8:00am on the 12 December 2020 and closed at 3.00pm on the same day to give room for collation of votes
All movements shall be restricted except for essential and Election duties. Businesses/markets/shops
shall remain closed within the stipulated Election period.
Voting shall take place at all
desigpated polling station,loitering shall not be tolerated at Polling zones. At this juncture Security agencies are requested to maintain adequate security throughout the period.
The State Independent Electoral Commission wishes all a peaceful Election, but shall not hesitate to countermand the polls where security is breached” the chairman said.
