The Kogi Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones, has commissioned Confluence Breed International School Lokoja, On Tuesday with an appealed to relevant stakeholders to emulate the proprietor of the school, Hon. Shiru Lawal for the delivery of quality and effective education in the state.
The commissioner who was represented by the parmanent secretary ministry of education Pastor Emmanuel Ideny,
commended the proprietor stressing that the ministry would collaborate with the school to provide quality education and called on other stakeholders to partner with the state government in delivering quality education to people of Kogi state.
Speaking earlier, Proprietor of the school,Hon. Shiru Lawal said his passion for education spurned him to established Confluence Bread International School.
Shiru, a former Lokoja Local Goverment administrator, stated that during his tenure he organised lesson for secondary school students across the ten wards of the council to enable students to pass their examinations.
“During my tenure as Lokoja Local Goverment administrator,we constructed chairs for students, solved the problems of students enrollment across the ten wards.
It is my passion for education that spun me to embark on this project ” Shiru said
In his good will massage, Director of Administration Lokoja Local Goverment, Engineer Danladi Yahaya Farouk said this is the first time an indigine established a private school with modern learning equipment in the entire Lokoja Local Goverment.
Farouk asserted that the kind gesture exhibited by Shiru is very unique, highly commendable and a great challenge to others.
Chairman of SUBEB, Hon Abdullahi Sulaiman Ndalayi in his remarks, urged the school authorities to make a judicious use of the facilities and ensure that they are effectively utilized and well maintained to achieve the purpose they are meant to serve.
Others who spoke at the ceremony are, member representing Lokoja 1 Constituency,Hon. Isah Tanimu Umar, Head teacher of the school, Mrs kolade owoyeye Folake, Maiyaki of Lokoja, Alhaji Ali Lawal and hosts of others.
