Governor Yahaya Bello of kogi state has commended the member representing Lokoja /Kogi Federal Constituency,Hon. Shaba Ibrahim
Bello made the commendations in Lokoja on Saturday at a ceremony organised by Hon. Shaba Ibrahim to mark his one year in office as member Representing Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy,Chief Edward Onoja described the lawmaker as a worthy representative stressing that the state is proud of his landmark achievements as a lawmaker.
“Representation is about development,you’re doing a good job,what we need is development not your party platform,you’ve done well for the last 365 days, especially your medical outreach program keep it up’ the Governor said.
He called on other lawmakers to emulate shaba who he describe as bi-politician .
In his own remarks, Rt Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila,who was represented by Hon. Muktar Ahmed commended Hon Shaba Ibrahim.
He said the house is feeling the presence of the lawmaker both in the house and at the committee level.
“Hon. Shaba’s contributions on the floor of the house at the committee levels towards nation building within 365 days need commendations,we are proud of him” he said.

In his speech,Hon. Shaba explained that the purpose of the gathering is to afford the people and the press to scrutinize,evaluate and challenge him as their representative and to project the constituency positively.

He further maintained that though the COVID-19 pandemic had take away almost Six month out of 365days which slowed down the pace of development in the constituent,
“I didn’t rest on my oars, neither do I relax in delivery the dividends of democracy to the people of my constituent” he stated
He assured the people of the area of his determinations to continued to serve them through quality representation.
Also speaking,the Ohimege Igu of Koton Karfe, HRM Abdulrasaq Isah Koto,said Hon. Shaba is the kind of Representative that most of constituencies what to have.
“He is not a dormant law maker,am pleased with him, we should corporate with him so that he can serve us better” the monarch said.
Others who poured encomiums on the lawmaker during the occasion were senator Tunde Ogbeha, Abubakar Ibrahim Idris, PDP state Chairman and host of others.

solar-powered boreholes in Lokoja LGA, Karara, Banda, Felele Kogi LGA, Omoko and Chikara. Banda and Karara are at 90% completion while Felele, Omoko and Chikara will Commence next Week.
6) Distribution of COVID-19 sensitization flyers, sanitizers, liquid soap and water buckets to mosques, churches and schools in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas.
7) Information Technology: website development and desktop training for youths in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency of Kogi State. Incentives of laptop and N20,000:00 (Twenty thousand Naira only) granted to each participant.
8) Cultural sensitization for Junior Secondary Schools in Lokoja/kKogi Federal Constituency.Participants were drawn from 20 schools from the constituency and winners received prices.
9) Admission into Kogi State Polytechnic secured and scholarships paid for indigent students
10) Payment of hospital bills for surgery patients at Federal Medical Centre.
11) Enhanced security by donating motorcycles to Vigilante in Kogi LGA to help combat arm robbery, kidnapping and banditry along Lokoja-Abuja road.
12) Distribution of palliatives to gushion effects of COVID-19 during lockdown.
13) Construction/Furnishing of classroom block in Ataji,Lokoja LGA.
