….as corps members receive ₦10,000 cash gift

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has admonished newly sworn- in Corps members to imbibe the spirit of National integration and begin to live the creed of unity and oneness as they would go into the society, various communities to serve their fatherland.

The Governor made this known on Monday while declaring open the 2020 Batch B, Stream 1A Orientation Camp in Kogi State, where he was represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja.

Bello emphasised that the country consist of various regional nomenclature including the Oduduwa, Afeniferi, Arewa, Kwararafa, Middle Belt, Ohaneze, IPOB, Niger Delta and and host of others,and urged them to go into the service year speaking for Nigeria and being a Nigerian.

He assured the corps members of their security adding that the state has demystified the COVID 19 Pandemic and urged them to feel free and have a breath of fresh air.

He noted that the Kogites were not only hospitable, but good people to live with as long as they don’t indulge in vices, crime and criminality and appealed to them to set a good exemples as they add values to their communities of primary assignment.

He stressed that the State was setting the pace in ensuring that women and the female folk were given the voice In governance and leadership adding that several top positions including that of the Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, were occupied by women

He announced that for the very first time in the history of Nigeria, his Aide to Camp was a woman of the Nigerian Police Force affirming that several Chairmen of Boards were also women

The Governor pointed out that recently, his party, the All Progressive Congress lined up 21 women as Vice Chairmanship Candidate for the 21 Local Government in Kogi State and to ice it all up, the legislative leadership at 21 Local Government Council would be manned by women, when the party emerged victorious on the forthcoming council poll scheduled to take place on December 12, 2020.
