As Muslims all over the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammed today, the Maigari of Lokoja,HRH Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111, have called for more understanding, unity and love among Nigerians to move the nation forward.
Maigari who was represented by the Waziri Of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrahman Idris Baba Kurum made the appealed on Wednesday in Lokoja, at Lokoja Muslim Ummah annual Maulid to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He urged Muslims to use the opportunity of his birthday to reflect on the teachings of the Prophet, who lived a life of piety, Peace ,Unity , service to God and humanity.
The monach also urged the adherents of the Islamic faith “to rededicate themselves to upholding the injunctions of the Holy Quran in their personal life and in their relationships with others.”
An Islamic scholar Malam Tanko Tale,in a goodwill message to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, said just like the birth of the Holy Prophet in Mecca ushered in a new dawn for humanity, Lokojans and Kogites in general should view the occasion of this year’s Maulud Nabiyyi as an opportunity for a new beginning by maintaining peace among adherents of other religion
He urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to further seek the mercy and protection of Allah for all Lokojans, state and Nigeria at large .
In his own message, the Sarkin Malamai Of Lokoja and Chairman LOC,Ustaz Abdullahi Manbo, said Muslim Ummah have every cause to celebrate and thank Allah for the opportunity of the life and the privilege of survival, stressing that Muslim must intensify prayers for the unity and peace in the state and the country at large .
In his on his good will messege,Kogi state Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello,who was represented by Commissioner for Solid Mineral, Engineer Bashir Gegu, congratulated Muslim on the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
He appealed to the Muslims of the state to emulate the virtues of the prophet.
According to him: “we must emulate the virtues of the holy prophet which include,peace,unity and love Where there’s no peace, there’ll be no development” he said
