The Director and Head of Administration Lokoja Local Government, Engineer Yahaya Farouk Muhammed Danladi has congratulated Gov. Yahaya Bello on the supreme Court ruling which re-affirmed his victory at the November Governorship election,describing it as a victory for democracy.
Farouk, in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Lokoja on Monday,said the supreme Court’s decision had put an end to the futile battle over the November 2019 Governorship election by re-affirming Governor Bello as the validly elected governor of Kogi State.
The DLG, described the supreme Court Verdict as the re-affirmation of the mandate freely given to Governor Yahaya Bello by Kogi electorate during the November,2019 Governorship election.
Farouk, who commended the judiciary for its demonstrated boldness and resilience in deepening the country’s democracy through sound judgments, said democracy is gradually taking firm roots in the Nigeria with the people’s will triumphing over other considerations.
“This is good for our democracy. It is victory for democracy. This victory is not for the All Progressives Congress (APC) alone. It is a victory for all well meaning Kogites. The people have spoken in clear tone and the judiciary has re-affirmed the will of the people.
“On behalf of Lokoja Local Government staffers and good people of Lokoja Local Government Area, I congratulate our governor, Yahaya Bello and his Deputy Chief Edward Onoja,the leadership of APC and the entire Kogites on this Victory,” the statement concluded.
