The Dama of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba,has lauded Lokoja and Crowther Memorial college,Lokoja,saying he’s proud of the ancient town and the institution
Sulaiman, who was recently conferred with the traditional Title of ‘THE DAMA OF LOKOJA'(DANIYA) by the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111,OON,made the declaration when a delegation of alumni of college, Crowther Old boys,’82’ led by Muhammad Bashir paid him a solidarity visit at his Nnayi Sulaiman’s GRA residence, Lokoja on Sunday.
He described the college as a great institution which he is proud of, and commended members of the Association for supporting their alma mata and Lokoja in general.
“Crowther Memorial college ,Lokoja ,is a great institution that we are proud of.
I am familiar with how great that institution is. I thank you for keeping the flag flying.
Any where I go I see myself as an ambassador of Lokoja ,crowther and kabawa Primary school, I’m proud of it,I want to use this medium to thank set ’82’ world over for the solidarity shown since the conferrement of this traditional title on me by His Royal Highness the Maigari of Lokoja” he said.
He Promised to contribute his quota to the development of Lokoja Emirate council and the state at large.
Earlier,leader of the delegation, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad said they visited the Dama of Lokoja to congratulate him for emerging as the new Dama of Lokoja after the demised of Right Honourable Umar Buba Jibril.
Bashir said that class ’82’ are proud of Sulaiman as their Worthy ambassador,adding that they were not surprised when they hard of the good news.
“We are here this afternoon to rejoice with you and thanked His Royal Highness,the Maigari of Lokoja,for the honour done to one of us,we pray Allah’s guidance and protection as you discharge your new responsibility as the new Dama of Lokoja’ Bashir prayed .
In her own remarks,Fatima Salihu commended the royal father for what she described as’ timely foresight’s of the Lokoja Emirate council for the conferrment of traditional title on Sulaiman Baba,a worthy ambassador of Lokoja and the college and called on others to emulate him.
The delegation which was led by Alhaji Bashir, include:Mr John Ajani,Hon Baba, Sulaiman Ahmed,Fatima Salihu and Musa Tanimu Nasidi.
