The Federal Government has declared that final year students won’t participate in the forthcoming West African Examination Council, WAEC, examinations,slated from 5th of August 2020.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, made this known while speaking with State House Correspondents shortly after the week’s virtual Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
According to the minister, schools may not resume any time soon, saying that it is preferable for the students to lose an academic year than to be exposed to COVID-19.
He, therefore, urged state governments that had announced school resumption plans to rescind such decision.
