The spokesman and Head of Corporate Communications of Nigeria Maritime Adminstration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Mr. Philip Kyanet has said that there no better choice than Dr. Bashir Jamoh to lead the agency.
Kyanet made the declaration while speaking with TheAnalystNG,an online Newspaper on Friday in Lagos.
He stated this on Friday when speaking with Analysts Online newspaper in Lagos.
He said that Dr. Jamoh who worked closely with the former Director General, Chief Ama Opusenibo Dakuku Adolphus Peterside would lead the agency to the much needed reform and consolidation.
He said Dr. Jamoh’s appointment has elicited commendations and praises among the staff and have energised all the department
According to him, Dr Jamoh is the first to be appointed within the organization since it’s Establishment, stressing that all past Director Generals were appointed from outside the Agency .
According to him: “Dr Jamoh has spent over 27 years in the system and is in a better position to lead the administration to achieve its well set mission and goals.
He further stated that with Dr. Jamoh appointment, the presidency has put a round peg in a round hole, saying it will spark the necessary reform in the sector.
He assured the stakeholders of the industry that Dr. Jamoh will consolidate on the past achievements and bring in the much needed reforms.
He commended President Buhari for appointing Dr Jamoh who he described as a focused and dedicated leader
