Fourteen persons were early hours of Wednesday killed by Unknown gunmen at Agudu, a Bassa Community in Kogi / kotonkarfe LGA of kogi state
The kogi state commissioner for Police CP Ede Ayuba while briefing Journalists on the activities of the command said , a family of 13 members were wiped out by the attackers,
He added another person was also killed while six persons who sustained degrees of injuries have been moved to medical facilities .
The Cp added that on receipt of the distress call , he immediately moved to the scene , however said , the bandits had left before their arrival , but has restored normalcy to the area
The commissioner who noted that the attack could have been triggered by an alleged long time communal disputes in the community , described it as unfornate for a man to lose his life ,and 12 other members of his immediate family leaving a son as survivor calls for concerned.
The police boss further disclosed that the killers of late Innocent Ofodile , owner of popular Chuck’s Supermarket in Lokoja ,who was brutally killed on Lokoja Abuja road has been revealed.
He explained that on receipt of discreet information, arrising from kidnappings and robbery incidents on Lokoja Abuja one Vincent Omogor was arrested and in his confession mentioned that other of his cohorts who are at large have carried out the dastardly killing of Innocent Offodile
According to Omogor, the gang carried out the killing on the order of one of his shop attendants , who complained of not being attended to when he approached him of financial assistance when his father died.
Meanwhile , parading the 23 other criminals, the Command Public Relations Officer DSP William Aya said the hoodlums were picked from different parts of the state.
The Ppro stated that they were arrested for armed robberies , bandistry , kidnapping ,,possession of illegal fire arms , impersonation by wearing military comouflage to commit crimes, while other were nabbed for snatching of cars and motorcycles and possession of human skull.
Items recovered from the hoodlums include one Ak 47, seven locally fabricated pistols, one locally made Baretta pistol, one single barrel gun , ammunitions , four motor cycles , three Toyota cars and human skull.
Aya disclosed that the command achieved the feat through synergy with the public who gave useful information that lead to the arrest of these criminal.
He added that the command’s new strategy of involving men of the operation puff Ader has checkmated the activities of the kidnapers especially on Lokoja Okene highway.
