Unknown gunmen suspected to be arm bandits on Wedneday killed the Proprietor of Chuck Super Market Lokoja,Mr Nicholas Ofordele and one other person,while many passengers were kidnapped along Lokoja -Abuja highways.
According to report, Ofodile met his untimely death during a shootout between the armed bandits and men of the special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, who made attempt to rescue him.
The incident according to source occurred along Gegu/Koton Karfe highway in Kogi Local Government of the state on Wednesday between 12 noon to 1Pm.
A credible source informed this reporter that,the suspected arm bandits who blocked the highway operated freely for some hours until the SARS intercepted,but they succeeded in whisking many passengers plying the ever busy Lokoja-Abuja road into an unknown destination
You recalled that the incident is coming barely one week after Isanlu police station in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state where eight police officers and two civilians were killed without mercy.
Confirming the incident , the Police Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Command, DSP William Aya , said “I just got a call that the owner of Chucks Supermarket has been killed alongside one other person. The command is yet to get details of what happened”.
