Ahead of September 2020 Local Government council election in Kogi state,a group: Lokoja Local Government Grassroot for Good Governance, has called on the people of the area to work for the emergence of Hon. Tijjani Bin-Ebiya Shehu,a.k.a BEST as the Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government council.
Spokesperson of the group,Hon. Danjuma Aliyu Ibrahim who made the called in a press statement in Lokoja,said the council at this crucial time required the services of someone with requisite experience, political skills and administrative acumen to manage the affairs of the local government that’s yearning for social- economic transformation.
The Chairman said : “for the good, development, progress of our Local Government Area, Hon. Tijjani Bin-Ebiya Shehu,a.k.a BEST, should be supported to emerge as the next council chairman.’’
“There is no doubt that at a time like this in the history of Lokoja local government which was created decades ago, there is need to have a tested and trusted leader as chairman of Lokoja Local Government been in the state capital, we need a leader with foresight and administrative knowledge of the grassroot and our people..
“Such a leader like Hon Shehu will combine forces with Governor Yahaya Bello to consolidate on the good works in trying to reposition our state.
“With Tijjani Shehu’s doggedness, experience in leadership and good knowledge of the grassroot polity coupled with Governor Bello’s anti corruption stance, I can boldly say we are battle ready for September 2020 counci poll with Shehu as the flagbearer of our great party and nothing but victory can be expected,’’ the statement concluded.
