JUDGEMENT CEDING LOKOJA,KOGI & AJAOKUTA TO ATTAH IGALLA : We Reject in Totality The Said Verdict By Federal High Court – Stakeholders

The political office Holders and traditional rulers in the three affected local government areas by the verdict of Federal high court recently ceding Lokoja, Kogi and Ajaokuta local government areas to Igalla Kingdom have briefed the press on their next move to proceed to appeal for further actions and clarification.

While reacting to the judgement , A Member representing Lokoja-Kogi local government constituency,Hon. Shaba Ibrahim who stood in for the three affected areas in the state said the stakeholders and the people have a long respect for the courts and judicial system,saying that the affected local govt areas were never parties to the proceedings,he added that neither were at anytime the people from the affected areas were aware of any pedency of any action in respect of the ancestral land despite been in active possession for over two centuries.

He reiterated that the judgement will be challenge in the appeal court inorder to express their total rejection of the said verdict,according to him ” its inherent consequences”,he said

“Lokoja, Kogi and Ajaokita federal constituencies are original owners and custodians of the land purportedly ceded to the Attah-Igalla by the Federal high court without prejudice to the rights of the real owners” he stressed”.

Those in attendance are the representatives of HRM,Alh. Muhammadu Kabir,Maikarfi III ,Maigari of Lokoja, Ohi of Ajaokuta and Alhaji Bako who stood in for Ohimege of Koton-Karfe.

Also present at the press briefing are the Senior Special Assistants on Security to the Governor, Lokoja,Kogi and Ajaokuta,and members of the House of Assembly of the three affected local government areas in the state.
